The green box suddenly disappeared from my screen! I can still get to my messages but it’s not on the screen. How do I fix this?

There are 4 icons at the bottom of my iPhone.
The telephone (contacts), green box (messages, now missing), blue box with envelope (mail) and the blue box with a clock inside (Safari search).
The green box for messages is no longer there.
No. That means that the home screen icons will be rearranged to factory default. That will bring the Messages icon. Everything else that you have installed will remain on the iPhone. Nothing will be erased.

Open Settings ➔ General ➔ Reset ➔ Reset Home Screen Layout : This should bring back the Messages icon back to the home screen.

Yep Safari is a compass!
I went to reset the screen icons but it says back to factory default. Does that mean all my apps will have to be reinstalled?
