software updates

there are no software updates showing up for my macbook air even though it is not letting me download apps because my macbook is "not up to date". how can i fix this??

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which MacBook Air model you have, download High Sierra or Catalina. They're full-version upgrades and won't appear in the updates list.
