Flickering MacBook Pro Display

I have an incessant flickering screen on my 2016 MacBook Pro. Every few seconds the screen goes black and then comes back. I have tried the following fixes without improvement:

- I am running the latest version of Catalina (10.15.6), and I have updated all my apps.

- I reset the PRAM.

- I have restarted several times.

- I also removed all the start-up programs in my profile.

- I created a new user with no start ups.

- I restored the OS in place (NOT a clean install).

- I deleted an app I had install recently. Hazel deleted all the associated files.

After all this, I thought it must be a hardware problem, but here is the odd part. When I start in safe mode, NO flicker. Doesn’t that indicate a software problem.

Unfortunately, I am not near an Apple Store.

Any suggestions?

Hello nealdf,

Your issues sound exactly like the ones I am experiencing. I brought my Macbook Pro to an Apple Store and a specialist took a look at it for me, however, the flickering issue still existed and he couldn't confirm if this was a hardware problem or not. Could you please help with this?

Thank you.
