Someone stole my Iphone 11 and the mark as lost has been pending for a few days now.

Is there any other way to locate my iphone? Does pending mean they might have it on airplane mode? I have a lot of personal stuff on that phone and I have been using the Find my app and I still have had no luck. I was told to wait until it is turned on so I can see its location. They will have to turn it on eventually right, which means I will be able to locate it once they do?
