FCPX crashes when I click on an adjustment layer

I created an adjustment layer in motion. I inserted it into FCPX and it seemed to work for a while. But now, every time I touch it, FCPX crashes. If I try to change its length it crashes, if I try to delete it FCPX crashes.

I do not want to start from scratch. i just want to get rid of that adjustment layer.

What do you recommend I do to get out of this crash loop?

I am working on the latest versions of FCPX (10.4.9) and Motion (5.4.6).

I tried to edit the xml, as you say, but could not change the code correctly.

The idea of going through the index is interesting. I did not try it. Perhaps it would work.

Fortunately, I had not advanced that much in the project, so I just recreated the motion title and started anew.

Your suggestions are always helpful.

Many thanks,

You may try to select it "indirectly" via the Timeline Index.

Press Command-Shift-2 to open the Timeline Index.

Locate your adjustment layer in the Index. Does it crash if you select it there? Can you delete it that way?

A more roundabout way is via XML. This may be a little tricky, but it may work.

Export XML of your project. Open the XML in a text editor like BBEdit.

Locate the adjustment layer and delete from the XML. This is the tricky part as it is easy to make the XML incorrect.

If you like, I can take a look at that XML and see if I can edit it for you.

You can send the XML file to yourself using wetransfer, and post a link here.
