I am curious...does Apple cover the cost if the unit is out of warranty? I came to my iMac this morning and the screen is now hanging down through no human effort!

I don't know if Apple is still covering the cost or not. I'm sure they will let you know.
Thank you
You're welcome.

Please follow the Apple Recommended answer at the top of this post. We’re all end users here and can’t speak for how Apple will deal with repair issues that are in or out of their warranty issue.
