Dot under image in Keynote

I am creating a digital calendar in Keynote. I added and image to the slide and removed the caption box under the image but a small grey dot remains. How do I get rid of this little grey dot under my image?

Im working on a MacBook Pro.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Click on the caption text box once to select (a Blue bounding box will show)

press the backspace key on the keyboard to remove the caption box
