Battery Service Recommended on a new MBP 16

I just purchased a MacBook Pro 16. The battery is fully charged and whether the power adapter is plugged in or not, I'm seeing a Service Recommended message.

Anyone know why this is occurring? Thanks!

Which macOS are you using on your new MacBook Pro? Tell me that it is not Big Sur Beta.

If you are using a released version of MacOS then please try the following two tasks and see if that resolves it.

  1. Reset SMC by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset SMC. If that does not solve things then-
  2. Reset NVRAM/PRAM by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset NVRAM/PRAM.

Ask this in the Developer Forums:

Being still in the stage of development... Beta Software questions are to be asked in the Developer Forums.  So, go here to ask this question: developer.apple.com. You are likely to get the answer you need in there.

Unfortunately, there is no forum for public betas - aside from using the feedback assistant to report problems, you are on your own entirely. The developer forums are not for public betas; they can be used if you are running the developer beta ($$).

FWIW, it doesn't matter what disk on for what purpose your beta is installed on - if you are on a beta, it cannot be discussed and it can be assumed that any problem is the result of that beta.
