iMessages Contacts

when trying to write to my mom in iMessages it works fine and her email address is associated to her contact, but when I try to iMessage my dad at his email address it sends a message to my moms email address. And goes on my moms iMessage thread. Why does it do this?

You may be using both of their contact information under ONE contact. For example, Mom and Dad. If that is the case then you probably have both of their email address under that one single contact. If my assumptions are correct then try separating both contacts and title them individually. This way each one will have their separate contact and separate contact information.
