I can't update my computer because it says I need to quit Photos first. But i can't quit Photos. what to do? .

Why can't you quit Photos - what happens when you try?

You can force Photos to quit, but you might lose some recent work if you do. To force Photos to quit, go to the Apple menu (click on the apple symbol at the top left of your screen), select Force Quit, then select Photos in the next dialogue.
