How can I get Apple TV on our Sony XBR-65X930D? Screen mirroring isn’t compatible either from the IPad Pro to the Sony. They are both on the same network. Is there another device I need?

Your TV model is not compatible with either the Apple TV App or Airplay 2 unfortunately, however you still have several options:
Use a Digital AV Adapter and an HDMI cable to physically connect the iPad to the Apple TV.
For the 2018 or later iPad Pro Models with a USB-C port: USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Apple
For the 2015 to 2017 iPad Pro models with a Lightning port: Lightning Digital AV Adapter - Lightning to HDMI - Apple
Get an Apple TV and use the included TV App instead of your iPad: Apple TV 4K - Apple
Get a Roku, Fire TV Stick or other streaming device that supports the Apple TV App: Apple TV app - Devices - Apple

First check to see if the TV has the ability to have the Apple TV app, you will need to visit Sony's web site or contact them or speak to the retailer you bought the TV from. As your post is incomplete (easy to do as Apple's TV's offering can be a little confusing) I think you are either asking about Apple TV (App) or the Apple TV + streaming channel. If you find your TV does not support the Apple TV app natively then you can get a device such as an Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K. You can get these from an Apple Store, many retailer's or Apple web based store www.apple.com.
