Buying used iPad from original owner who did not get AppleCare

If I buy a used iPad that's less than 6 months old, but the original buyer/owner did not get AppleCare when they bought it, can I still get AppleCare for that device?

Thanks

No, you cannot add AppleCare to a device originally purchased 6 months ago. The window for adding AppleCare was 60 days from the original date of purchase, so that window of opportunity has long passed by.
