I just get the words reconnecting, for a long long time now. How do I know if transferring data is actually happening? It seems frozen, can I restart my phone and start again? Should I not use my older phone iphone XR, whilst this transfer happens....any help would be appreciated, thank you

Restart your new phone.
then put the 2 phone next to each other and leave it alone after you gone through the prompts.
