In Finder>Preferences>General, & Sidebar check CDs & DVDs.

To Eject you drag the Disc to the Trash or...

On your main hard drive, dig down into System > Library > CoreServices > Menu Extras. Inside that window, double-click on the icon called Eject.menu. You get a pyramid looking icon in the top toolbar.

What exactly do you need to know?

System Requirements

Compatible with the following computers:

*The Apple USB SuperDrive is compatible with Mac models from 2008 and later that don't have a built-in optical drive.

*MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models with USB-C ports require a USB-C to USB adapter (sold separately) to use Apple USB SuperDrive.

Two issues bothers me. First my external DVD driver icon won’t show up after connecting my Apple DVD to my Apple Macintosh desktop. Also my beach ball starts rotating. How can you alleviate my issues Appreciate help from Apple community
