phone number doesn't appear in imessage

in imessage, my number doesn't even appear in Send & Receive. only my email. help.

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 13

You need to change/add the number on your Apple ID. After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime.

tysm it worked! But now my phone number is grey but has a check mark next to it. Do i have to do anything about this?

You are welcome. It should be okay as far as I know. Have you tried sending from the number to see if it works?

Yes i did try sending messages to my friend. Everything worked just fine but in her iphone, it showed my email instead of my contact name.

Has she created a card for you in her Contacts app that includes your phone number?
