reinstalling macOS

My kids decided to erase my disk on my MacBook Pro and then try to reinstall macOS but now when I try to reinstall it from macOS utilities it tells me "To download and restore macOS, your computers eligibility will be verified with Apple". So I click continue and then it says "UNTRUSTED_CERT_TITLE"..... any ideas on what to do for this? I also just spent $600 to have this computer sent into Apple because I was having issues with the operating system before so I don't really know why my kids messed with it to begin with.

Not sure what you did to get where you are... or what they did.

1. Start up from macOS Recovery

To start up from macOS Recovery, turn on your Mac and immediately press and hold one of the following combinations on your keyboard. Command-R is generally recommended, especially if you never installed macOS Sierra 10.12.4 or later… https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904#notupdated

Command (⌘)-R

Install the latest macOS that was installed on your Mac.

Option-⌘-R

Upgrade to the latest macOS compatible with your Mac.

Shift-Option-⌘-R

Install the macOS that came with your Mac, or the closest version still available.
