Good evening, I would like to rip my family DVDs (unprotected) but I have compatibility problems when I try to open the TS folder that contains the video it does not open.
Mini Mac September 2013 16GB ram SSD 500GB updated Catalina with iSuper DVD Ripper.

Download Handbrake which is a free app also and rip DVD's with it. It will give you a mp4 or mkv file.

To open a Video_TS folder you can use VLC

DVD player can't allow you to copy file.
Save the file on disk extracting with a tool like Ripit and then copy the master folder to external disk.
If you want a lighter version of VIDEO_TS process it with Handbrake.

I'm using Ripit to extract the DVD folder, then you can use HandBrake to encoding mp4 file.
HandBrake- Open Source Video Transcoder.
In this way you have the original files backed up on Mac and the encoding with HandBrake will be so fast.
Sounds strange, try to contact The Little App Factory to receive support.
If you want to try an alternative to RipIt there's another valuable software: MacX DVD Ripper Pro, it has more options and flexibility.
Hi Linda, I finally managed to pass a video on the mini mac and also on an external hard disk with your precious help.
It is not clear to me the correct path to perform, if you can help me understand how to move files from the DVD player to the mini mac and finally copy them also to external hard disk to save it in greater safety.

I am not fully understanding of what you are trying to do. If you rip a DVD and want to save the video file to an external hard disk then, when the file is on your desktop or where you download them to then move it to where you want to save it, it will not change.
