Storing photos on my iPhone instead of iCloud

HI Jane,

Not clear from your post on what you want to accomplish. I am assuming that you want to store the photos only on your iPhone and NOT on iCloud. This easy to do. Open Settings ➔ Apple ID (Your Name at top) ➔ iCloud ➔ Photos and ensure that the switch is in the OFF position. Once you do this then the photos will not be synced to iCloud and will remain on your iPhone.
