Phone icon dark

My phone icon is dark. My software is up to date and the phone is working fine. It doesn’t appear to be updating and it’s been like this all day. Any ideas how to correct it? My iPhone 8

Did you force reboot your device? Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
