clearing storage on ipad

hi.

ive only got about 2GB left of 16.

It says 5GB of that is iCloud drive but I don't have icloud drive turned on, nor do I have the files app.

Is there any way of deleting this so I can free up some space?

Your [unused] iCloud storage capacity has no bearing at all upon your local storage capacity. If you local storage is nearly exhausted, you need to delete locally stored data.

It says it’s using up that amount of space.

so it must be on the iPad somewhere.
