Is there a way to restore missing messages on my iPhone FROM my MAC?

Some text messages from my iPhone 8 plus have disappeared. They still show up on my MAC. Is there any way I can restore them to my iPhone?

Are you using iCloud Messages? If not, the only way to restore messages that are not on the iPhone is to restore the iPhone to a backup that was made when the messages were on the iPhone. Realize, that will delete everything done on the iPhone since the backup was made.
