To work with the permutations possible with the family, the selector mechanism akin to what’s used on the couple (👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏿👩🏾‍🤝‍👨🏻)will need some more work, or a different design.

I’m still figuring a whole lot of this out myself, too. Both technically in terms of emoji, and in terms of social norms and expectations and legal requirements and just being polite about it. And it’s certainly all more complex than many of us might realize, and in various dimensions. And many of us here are not “guys”, BTW. That one took a while for me to learn to avoid, too.

While I acknowledge you exist, I've attempted to long press a number of the family emoji, and they do not provide the ability to modify the color. You would have to provide feedback to Apple,
