Just taken delivery of my new iPhone XS Max but my SIM card from my old iPhone 8 does not fit! Should I have received a new sim with the phone?

Just taken delivery of a new iPhone XS Max for my wife birthday. The sim from her old iPhone 8 does not fit? Should I have been given a new SIM card with this phone?

No you'll have to get a new SIM card from your carrier they should give you a new one for free and transfer the phone number to the new one
