Replaced ipad which is locked on remote management

Hi

i replaced a broken ipad about 6 weeks ago and just got home from a business trip and tried to restore it. After completion it is locked in remote management for some company I never heard of. I am assuming it’s the ipads old owner. How can I proceed?
