I have an iPhone 6 and I am considering buying an Apple Watch Series 3. Is the Apple Watch installed automatically with watchOS 6? I have read that watchOS 6 only works with an iPhone 6s and higher.

The current shipping Apple Watches require an iPhone 6s, SE, 7, 8, X, XS, XR, 11 or 11 Pro
