Using Apple Watch 5 on Consumer Cellular's AT&T network sim card?

I've read other answers that say Consumer Cellular is not on the list of approve carriers but I don't know why it wouldn't work since Consumer Cellular uses AT&T's network.

My iPhone 11 uses AT&T's network through Consumer Cellular.

I want to take advantage of AT&T's current $18 a month payment offer for the GPS+Cellular Apple Watch 5 and want all the features supported.

A T-Mobile network sim card is available too and which one you get usually depends on who has the better coverage in your area. I requested the AT&T sim card and so got that.

I'm sure that Consumer Cellular has a contract with AT&T as to what services and features of AT&T's network they are allowed to use.

Sharing a single phone number with multiple devices requires AT&T services that perhaps Consumer Cellular is not interested in contracting for, or AT&T is not interested in sharing.

Xfinity is also MVNO, but they have contracted with their partners so they can offer Apple Watch support.
