voice mail on iphone7

What happed to my voice mail on my iphone7? I no longer get any indication that I have a message.

In order to hear my messages I have to "call voice mail". Then I cannot delete or do anything else. It automatically saves the message.

How can I fix this to the way it used to be?

Contact your carrier. Voicemail is a carrier feature and it appears yours is not reflecting that you have an iPhone. They will need to reset it.
