USB-c adapter

I have the first generation iPad Pro 12.9” and I’m looking for a USB-C adapter to use a flash drive and organize files. Where can I find this? The ones I see only work for the new iPads.

Hello,

You can use Apple's Lightning to USB 3 Adapter in order to connect USB-A devices to your iPad Pro. There is no way to connect a USB-C device to your iPad Pro. USB-C uses a newer USB protocol that iPad models with Lightning are not compatible with.

Hello,

USB-C devices use the new smaller USB-C socket. Please refer to the attached photo. If you have a USB-C flash drive then you cannot use it on iPad unless you have the iPad Pro (3rd generation). If your flash drive is USB-A then you can use the Apple adapter I linked to earlier on your iPad Pro (1st generation).

What would classify as a usb-c device. With the adapter you recommend would I be able to organize files on my flash drive?

When I clicked on the link on your first reply and read the reviews, it looked as if I’d only be able to transfer and work with photos. In your opinion would that be the only thing I’d be able to do?

Hello,

The adapter was originally designed to only work with a camera. A recent iPad system software update included the ability to access any USB storage device on iPad.
