"Remove an item from the Dock: Drag the item out of the Dock until you see Remove. Only the alias is removed; the actual item remains on your Mac."

I'm unable to "Drag" or remove items in Dock in macOS Mojave on my 2018 15" MacBook Pro. I've been using Main Frame Dumb Terminals since the late 1970s, DOS PCs mid 1980s, Windows PCs 1989, MACs since 2011. My 13" 2011 MacBook Air and 2011 Mac Mini, I was able to Drag items to rearrange them, or remove them from the Dock. I have read the help files including the ones recommended above, browsed the Apple Support site, the MacBook Pro Essentials E-Book, and the macOS User Guide. I'm still unable to "Drag" or remove items in Dock in macOS Mojave on my 2018 15" MacBook Pro.
If your question remains unanswered, did you try my suggestion above?
It may also be the Dock preferences or even Finder Preferences that are the culprit.
From your Finder "Go" menu > "Go to folder" then copy & paste this file path:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go.
Find and delete:
com.apple.dock.plist
com.apple.finder.plist
Then restart or log out and back in.
Did you try macjack's suggestion?
Hold down the Option key then click and hold on Finder icon in the Dock and choose "Relaunch".
Or as Ferd says! 😎
Sending the plist files to the trash solved my problem. Many Thanks. You obviously know your Apples.

You're welcome, glad it's sorted.
