I keep having numbers type instead of letters on my iPad Air 3. I hate this keyboard system and would like no numbers unless I click the .?123 key!
Settings > General > Keyboard > Enable Key Flicks = “Off”.

Swiping down as you press a key causes it to print numeral instead of letter.
Go to Settings > General > Keyboard and see what keyboard you have selected to use.
You might want to make sure you have English (United States) > Querty selected
And definitely make sure you have what sberman suggested off.
Thank you. I have English/US selected, QWERTY but the version of my old pad didn’t show grayed numbers over the letter keys, this one does. And if I don’t hit the key just right it types that number rather than the letter. Very frustrating.
