I was trying to figure out how to put a table into one of my notes, which I remember being able to do a year or two ago, and according to everything I could find on the internet there should be a toolbar that appears above my keyboard which contains a table icon, but there isn't and I can't figure out why.
I'm running the most recent iOS (12.3.1) and have already tried turning it off and back on again, closing and reopening the notes app, etc.

Thanks, this fixed it. I turned every option on and it appeared, then turned them off one by one until I found that it's the keyboard setting called "shortcuts" that must be turned on to access the toolbar.

In Settings -> General -> Keyboard verify that the Predictive is toggled on as well as the other keyboard options.

Thanks for the reply, but I'd actually already looked at both those links before posting here while searching for my problem. The video is talking about grid lines to help you write with the Apple pencil, not data tables you can type into, and the other link unfortunately doesn't address what to do if the toolbar is missing.
