Can I protect my playlists so my family can not alter them?

You playlists cannot be altered by anyone but you, with your Apple ID. Keep your Apple ID secure.
Shared playlists can be copied and saved as a new playlist that is no longer yours. That copy can only be altered by the one who saved it.
