iPhone backup without iTunes

Hi, after hearing the news that Apple intend to switch iTunes off. Does anyone know how it will be possible to backup an iPhone without iTunes or iCloud ?

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 12

iTunes isn't being switched off, it's only being replaced on macOS Catalina with three separate apps. If you don't update to Catalina things stay as they currently are.

The backup/restore/sync options that currently are done via the iTunes app on a Mac will now be part of the Finder app on the Mac. Things won't change if you're using iTunes on a Windows computer.

Backup up and restoring an iPhone to/from iCloud will not be changed by the changes to the macOS iTunes app.
