My dictation stopped working a few months ago on my watch. It still doesn’t work, even after the recent update. The “hey Siri” doesn’t come up but when I click on the microphone to respond to a text, it looks like it’s listening, but doesn’t insert the text after speaking and says dictation failed. Help!! I miss this function.

I would un-pair the Watch, then re-pair it to the phone, but set it up as new to test the microphone. If there is no response, then see about service for the Watch.

Hi, did you try force rebooting the device? press the Digital Crown and the side button at the same time until you see the Apple logo.
Yes, in fact, I rebooted both the watch and the phone. I toggled off and on the dictation feature too as I found in the support area. Nothing seems to be helping. Thank you!
I tried your suggestion and I wish I could say it worked but dictation still fails. Guess I’ll have to send it out for service. Thanks for your help!
