You mean the flashlight icon in Control Center? Yes, that can be removed in Settings>Control Center>Customize Controls.
What 'flashlight icon' on your home screen? There is none on the home screen... Control center, yes, home screen, no.
Post a screenshot.
Might you be referring to the Flashlight icon on the Lock Screen? If so, it can't be removed.
No you cannot remove it.
Yes, press and hold. Thanks for that seanachai. I don’t think she noticed because the lock screen disappears so quickly with Face ID.
Hi Tom,
According to one article I read online, it was possible to remove the Flashlight & Camera icons from the Lock Screen on older iPhones with 3d Touch, running iOS 11, by turning off 3D Touch, but apparently that was removed in iOS 12.
How to remove flashlight from iPhone X lock screen? - StackExchange
On my XR you have to press firmly on the Flashlight icon, rather than just tap it. Not sure about the XS. Perhaps it was only on the iPhone X that was introduced. Come to think of it, I don't recall that icon being on my 6S.
I guess pre-X phones don't have that. Odd, and perhaps unfortunate, that the OSs are so different.
My 8+ doesn’t have either icon, and I don’t remember ever seeing them. My wife’s XS has them, but tapping them doesn’t do anything at all, nor does swiping them.
