Stop it from copying something when I open Mail

In Tahoe 26.1 — Every time I open the mail, it starts copying a thousand plus messages. That never gets completed.

I have gone co "Composing" and nothing there is checked to be automatic.

How do I stop this problem? And what is it copying... to put where???
