Is there a way to delete all my files in Final Cut Pro X, and start fresh?

It depends where you stored your media. The default location is inside the library. If that's what you did, you can simply trash the library bundle from your computer. Create a new library to edit your next production.
Please delete the library and reload the media.
@Tom, I was worried because I hadn't heard from you. I hope you're doing well.
In Fox you can right click on the library icon in the browser and at the bottom of the menu select Reveal in Finder.
You can right click on a clip in the browser and select Reveal in Finder to show you where it is.
If you do decide to delete the library and media was set to be stored inside the library, be sure you have copies of all the source media that you used. I bring this up just in case you copied from camera cards, then erased the cards.

How can I locate the libraries? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but I am just a 75-year-old musician, not well-versed in FCPX. And apparently, I have files everywhere, and keep getting warnings like I'm "using files from other locations," and it's just a mess. I don't fully understand what comes first, the "chicken or the egg!"

Anyway you're just a kid and should get up to speed pretty quickly especially if you study a tutorial from YouTube.
There are a great many to choose from . . . this one is quite old (3 years) but comprehensive.
There are much shorter ones.
Whichever you choose, you will probably find the tutor goes much too fast for our ageing brains so I recommend downloading the videos so you can pause and rewind easily. You can stick them on a tablet or extra computer which makes it easier to follow along.
Furthermore if you really want to start afresh with FCP exactly as it was when you downloaded it (default settings) you can delete the preferences.
