Can I import (or copy&paste) tabbed text from Pages into a Numbers doc and have the tab returns recognized as columns? (Apologies fro asking this question here, in the Pages and Numbers forums I kept getting a '403 Forbidden' message when I clicked the "Ask the Community' button there.

Yes. This will work in both Pages tables and Numbers spreadsheets. The trick is to just single-click on the cell where you want the rows and columns of pasted text to begin, usually A1 or A2 depending on the presence of a header.
Tested: Pages v14.4, Numbers v14.4, macOS Tahoe 26.2
Well, I'm stumped. I've attached a couple of screenshots that may reveal what I'm doing wrong. The first shot is my Pages doc. The highlight line is what I'm attempting to copy&paste.
The second shot is what I get. This shot is of a Pages table but the same thing happens in Numbers.
Your particular body text is using multiple tabs to make it look nice in the document, but the copy/paste operation into a Pages table cell, or Numbers spreadsheet expects single tabs between the intended column data.
Before I Paste and Match Style into the Pages table, I need to select the entire table (click the table ○⃝ indicator) and:
Now, you can single-click the first Pages table cell and do the Paste and Match Style. I get the following when choosing two, single-tabbed rows:

Hmm, OK but my text isn't in a Pages table. It's a regular word processor doc. So I'm guessing this may not work.
My response assumed the tabbed text columns were in Pages body text and ready to be copy/pasted into either a Pages table or Numbers spreadsheet.
It certainly works because as shown, I tested it.
