Siri truncates incoming Messages announcements in CarPlay, cutting off last word or two
Siri is frequently truncating Messages announcements in iOS 26.2 (though it has been going on for a while, in earlier versions of iOS, including 18.x). Siri will read part of the message and then cut off before finishing it. In cases where the message is one word, such as "OK" or "yeah", Siri often doesn't speak the message at all.
I am using 26.2 on an iPhone 17 Pro Max, with a 2019 Toyota C-HR. I am using an Ottocast Mini wireless CarPlay adapter BUT this occurs with other brands of adapters, and also happens when I am connected via cable. It also happened with my 16 Pro Max on previous versions of iOS.
What happens: When a message is received Siri announces it and starts to read it, but then drops the last word or two or three. So "Please don't forget to buy milk" comes out as "Please don't forget to ..." If I go to hear the message directly via the Messages screen, it usually will play the whole thing but not always.
I am not sure if this is related, but it seems like it - Occasionally, Siri will insert the name of the person at the beginning of a dictated message when I have not said it. An example:
Me: Siri, text Lisa.
Siri: What do you want to say to Lisa?
Me: Don't forget to buy milk.
Siri: It says, Lisa don't forget to buy milk. Send it?
