Activation Lock / Lost Mode enabled after Apple ID compromise — any advice? сможете ли помоч разблокировкой

Hello everyone,

I am asking for advice because I am stuck in a very difficult situation.

My Apple ID was compromised and scammers enabled Lost Mode on my iPhone without my consent. I am the original owner of the device and I have the original purchase receipt and the box with matching IMEI/serial number.

I contacted Apple Support multiple times and submitted all requested documents, but unfortunately my requests were declined. I understand Apple’s security policies, but I am hoping someone here might have experience or advice on what else (if anything) can be done in cases like this.

I am not asking for illegal methods or bypasses. I just want to understand if there are any additional official steps, appeals, or recommendations that I may have missed.

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Thieves are smart and by enabling lost mode on the phone, there is no one, including Apple who can help you. Are you in Russia? We're seeing where people wanted to get an App or service they couldn't get, letting someone else sign into their iPhones. Once you let someone in your phone and Lost Mode is activated, the phone is useless and ready for the recycle bin. Also, if you're in Russia, there is no Apple Support in Russia anymore, so it's time to buy a new iPhone and learn from this unfortunate experience.

Be advised the scammers will likely demand a ransom to get you back in your phone. Once you pay, they ask for more money. It's a losing proposition for you all around.

You said, your Apple ID was compromised.

The typical scam is that you sign out of your own Apple Account on the device and sign in using someone else's Apple Account with a password they provide and that is what they lock with Lost Mode. Is it your Apple Account that is signed into your phone, or someone else's?

Otherwise they would not be able to access your account from another device as long as you had two factor authentication turned on and you did not give them the verification code sent to your device.

Unfortunately, my iPhone cannot be restored. I am not from Russia, I am from Kazakhstan.

I was a victim of scammers — they gained access to my account and marked the device as lost, after which my Apple ID was blocked.

I have contacted Apple Support several times and provided all the required documents and personal information. I also explained that the IMEI originally belongs to me, but my requests were not approved.

I would really appreciate it if Apple could consider this situation and provide an alternative solution for users who are victims of fraud and are unable to recover their devices in the standard way.

Thank you for your time and support.

Kind regards.

Apple ID and Activation Lock

iCloud uses Apple ID credentials.

If you are not the owner and do not have the Apple ID and Password then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their Apple ID.

  1. In Find Devices on iCloud.com, select the device in the All Devices list on the left.
  2. Click Lost Mode, click Stop Lost Mode, and then click Stop Lost Mode again.

Re: “I was a victim of scammers — they gained access to my account”

How did they do that? Did you tell them your Apple Account password? That would have been a bad mistake.

You are not speaking to Apple. According to you, they have already declined your Activation Lock support requests. I would not expect that position to change.
