How do I resolve 'using a proxy' error for streaming on iPad while connected to resort Wi-Fi?

I am in a resort outside of my country and want to view streaming on my iPad. I get an error of saying something like I’m using a proxy and so I can’t see anything or hear anything. I have disabled via the Wi-Fi setting proxy configuration and I am not running a Vpn. Inyerep enough some of the streaming apps that I use do not give me any error. If I come off wifi and use data it works fine but I want to avoid.
