Printer not printing documents clearly or correctly. Faded lines or areas of print, documents do not print black. All standard troubleshooting has been tried and even a new printer purchase and trying on multiple different printers (all canon based). Print drivers are current. There is new ink and no blockages. The prints with other programs outside of Pages and PDF come out okay. For example I print photos and they look perfect. But simple images (think return QR code in an amazon return paper) or a standard printed black and white (or color) page does not print correctly.

This appears to be a mac based error but it happens in Pages and Preview and I even downloaded Word to check it. It's been going on for quite some time so I finally bought a new (the same but newer version) printer. Sometimes when I clean print heads, the pages will print okay once and go right back to the issue. But considering that photos and other items print just fine, it leads me to believe this is document type specific. I would wonder if it's an issue in an update sometime in the last year.

I am updated but not on the newer operating system (I hated the new launchpad and reverted back). I have a macbook pro and a mac mini and it happens on both. I even completely reinstalled software on my mac mini at one point in case there was a software conflict. I have not called apple support b/c I dread that. They are awfully rude usually. My husband is even a software engineer and he is out of ideas as well.
