Wondering what kind of scanner you are using, and whether it has up-to-date software.

There may be some small, but necessary detail that is being overlooked.

Eg: After you scan a document,

you may need to click an "Overview" button to have the scanner move on to opening the next document.

Else: Apple Support have an article online that may be helpful:

Image Capture User Guide for Mac - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Scan items with Image Capture

After connecting a scanner to your Mac, you can use Image Capture to scan items.

If your scanner has an automatic document feeder, you can use it to scan a multi-page document to a single file. If you have a flatbed scanner, you can scan multiple items and save each item to its own file.

  1. Go to the Image Capture app  on your Mac.
  2. Connect your scanner to your computer, then turn on your scanner.
  3. In the sidebar of the Image Capture app, select the scanner below Devices or Shared.
  4. If you don’t see your scanner in the list, see Set up a scanner to use.
  5. Scan your items.
  6. If you have a scanner with an automatic document feeder or flatbed scanner, see Scan images or documents using a scanner."

______________

Article also says:

  • "If your scanner or multifunction printer doesn’t appear in the Devices or Shared list within Image Capture, visit the manufacturer’s website to find out if software is available.
  • Check the documentation that came with your device to see if it works with Mac computers."

If needed: There is more info. in that "User Guide" article near the top.

There are also other helpful support articles online that may help trouble-shoot.:

Eg: says: "If the scanner is connected to the USB port on an AirPort base station,

connect the scanner to a USB port on your Mac". amongst other tips.
