Cannot access purchased music files on iPad Pro

I have purchased music via iTunes Store to use it for a personal project (a music card for my daughter) via my new iPad Pro. Unfortunately though I see all the music has been automatically synced to the Music app, and it seems there’s no way to locate the MP3 files and use them through another app. Could you please help? Thank you.

Re-download the purchased song on a Mac (best method)

On a Mac or Windows PC, iTunes/Music lets you download unprotected AAC files for most purchased songs.

Then you can:

  • Put the file on iCloud Drive
  • Transfer it to the iPad
  • Use it in your chosen app

Steps (macOS Music app):

  1. Open Music
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Go to Account → Purchased
  4. Download the song(s)
  5. Right-click the track → Show in Finder
  6. Copy the file to iCloud Drive / USB / AirDrop to your iPad

Most modern iTunes purchases are DRM-free, so you can use them normally.
