When closing tabs on safari they start to pile up and you can see the count of how many are on the pile. They become small and when I exit safari I can see them on my home page. Why does that happen?

it’s a new Safari multitasking animation + App Switcher interaction introduced in iOS 26 on iPhone Pro models. Safari in iOS 26 uses a new “stacked tab” animation. When you close tabs or exit Safari, the tabs briefly appear as a small pile—even on the Home Screen—as part of the app switcher transition. It’s normal behavior, not a glitch. You can minimize the effect by adjusting Safari’s tab settings or using single-tab mode.
