Tahoe 26.1 Preview App fails opening a PNG screenshot

Hello all,

Can someone please advise how to edit a screenshot now that the Preview App fails with a "Preview App Failed" message along with technical diagnostic (where's the error handling and user friendly message). I recently allowed the update to Tahoe 26.1. I'm now in a position where I need to edit a screenshot that I cannot open. Steve Jobs would not be impressed.

Thank you all, I took 2 actions (1) rebooted my Mac, and (2) instead of clicking on the Failure Dialog "Reopen" button, I clicked on the "Continue" button. Like user error, in my defense the error description was very technical and not helpful in working around/resolving the issue. Once again, thanks to all that responded so quickly, greatly appreciated.

Thank you all, I took 2 actions (1) rebooted my Mac, and (2) instead of clicking on the Failure Dialog "Reopen" button, I clicked on the "Continue" button. Like user error, in my defense the error description was very technical and not helpful in working around/resolving the issue. Shut down and restart your Mac and compare your results.

Does that mean you resolved the issue...?
