iPhone on iOS 26 no longer sends lossless audio via USB to external DAC.

I use Apple Lossless audio on my iPhone and plug it via USB into my amp's DAC. it sounds great! When it works.

Unfortunately it has completely stopped working in iOS 26. Other sources on earlier iOS still work.

Is anyone else having a problem using an external DAC with iOS 26 devices? (I mean, I know you are, just kind of an edge case.)

I believe some people have identified Automix as a problem, but I've turned that off and it still doesn't work.

Force 24-bit mode via “Audio MIDI” profile trick

This only works on some iFi, SMSL, and Schiit devices.

This causes iOS to renegotiate bit depth.
