Cannot activate 2TB iCloud storage

Changing iCloud storage subscriptions.

I have iCloud storage previously shared with my family (200GB). My spouse then signed up on Apple One and shared that with the family including 2TB of iCloud Storage. I have tried to get the 2TB shared to the family so I could cancel the 200GB subscription. Because everyone is using the original shared storage the 2TB is not activated and cannot be shared. Is there an easy way to change over the subscription apart from backing up and cancelling the original subscription?

Your 2TB Apple One storage will not activate because your old 200GB iCloud plan is still being shared. To fix it, simply stop sharing the 200GB plan, ensure your spouse is sharing the Apple One 2TB storage, refresh iCloud on all family devices, and cancel your 200GB plan only after the 2TB plan becomes active. If it gets stuck, leaving and rejoining Family Sharing resets everything automatically. No backups or data loss occur.
