Two backups appearing on new iPhone
bought a new iphone and now i have two back ups on my new phone

Yep, you would have the backup from your old phone used to restore on your new one, and also a backup from your new phone. If you no longer use the old device, you can delete that backup. When restoring from a backup, it would not be unusual for both of those backups to be named the same, but one of them should be marked as "This Device", so you know which one to delete.
