SMB folder window size/position inconsistent on Macs

A colleague and I both connect to the same servers and open the same folders on those servers. He's using a Mac Studio and I have a MacBook Pro, but while I placed the open folders top left on my screen my colleague place them at the bottom of his screen about half the height compared to what I have. However, when I connect from my computer, the folders open at the size my colleague use, but when he connects to the same folder it opens at the size I use and at the location where I have the folder placed on the desktop. Sometimes when he resize the folder and drag it where he wants it on his desktop the folder will jump back to the same placement as I have it on my desktop. We both connect to the servers using SMB. Any ideas as to what might cause this problem or why occasionally his open folders are closed while mine stay open even though we have the same power setting (as far as it goes) and network settings?
